I read that Andrews was constantly polling the community to gauge the level of support for his government's actions. This is what any prudent politician does.

It is also worth noting that a year after coming out of the last lockdown (and more than two years after that Guardian article) his government was easily returned to office.

Next, the two surveys' findings (as reported) referred to different things. The first (in the Guardian article dated 12 Aug) had to do with restrictions in human movement but had nothing to do with vaccine mandates - or masking, for that matter. The second survey seemed to have more to do with vaccine mandates and the general concept of trading off individual liberties for the good of the collective.

Regarding the material to be released, it will be argued (in defense of any apparent improprieties/shortcuts/deceptions) that it was all in the best interests of public safety. Zzz.

No one is mad at a politician for routine temperature checking.

People were mad with Palaszczuk and Andrews for basing extremist and "public health policy" off polling. But I think you know that ;)
