Secession assumes there was a right of central control.
There seems to be more than a measure of doubt about the legitimacy of the federation since it is a Westminster fabrication with no connection to any of us here in the dystopian down under.
Asserting the obvious right to break a failed federation seems appropriate.
Yes, sounds great, but we don't want any of these horrible premier types. We would need a completely different sort of governance than we have at present in this state. No tax sounds wonderful. Make the rich companies pay if they are going to make a profit from our resources in the ground. Or better still those companies work for us for a wage and we keep the profit from the resources.
Substack’s age verification system seems to be taking a day off, so, today, I’m allowed to comment (have been giving that orange square a big middle finger for the last few months).
I can understand WA wanting to secede given the current uncontrolled spending of taxpayer dollars by the Federal Government. Australia has too many MPs and layers of Government draining public funds and they are not even trying to be careful with our money. Canberra is complacent and does need a bit of a wake-up call, so a good discussion to have.
I’d also strongly agree that Australia should be charging resource companies significantly more in royalties and taxes (especially if foreign-owned), to reduce taxes on the public.
However, WA had one of the most extreme state governments during Covid (and some of the most extreme health and biosecurity laws). It was the State Premiers who imposed lockdowns and mandates and took over the country via National Cabinet - so you’d need to be very careful who you end up with!
GB, all of your listed issues are covered in the book in detail, and constitutionalised in the draft new Constitution in chapter 15 - grab a copy & discuss more!
Sounds like "America, circa 1776"! I hope you understand how vital that 2nd Amendment is here in the United States!....
Also, New Hampshire's State Constitution contains "Article X ("10")", - "Right of Revolution", which I am in the middle of BOTH invoking, and exercising. So, this book is very welcome news to me! I've been working on a framework, or structure, to apply the basic principles of the U.S. Constitution globally, - to EVERYBODY.... Let's ALL KEEP UP the GOOD WORK!....rsvp?
And the really really big consideration of the ramifications of AUKUS : PDJT and the USA will absolutely not station critical defence structure in a region that continues to politically be anti human globalists.
We will have to utterly reform or
They may leave
(and given the past 10+ years of special operation : I don’t think they are leaving 😁 : which is good for our future freedom

Love it,BUT 'they' (the parasites that are welded into the armpits of this packhorse camel we are) are never ever going to 'give us up'. Ahhh. the dreams of the convicts. The parasites are not only the political puppets installed across every state in Aust, but the globalist benefactors of the practically royalty free resources they continue to steal -thanks to 'said puppets' doing their bidding. Now leave me alone, I have to crack all these rocks before I get my bowl of rice, and my ball and chain is chaffing. :-)
I'm not sure I want to see this country 'carved up'. Each State has 'something of value' to offer the country as a whole,. Cant we sort it out and work collectively as a whole? UNITY is strength. I think of the European countries today - all small entities - self-governing sure - but all with their own individual systems of law, economic strategies needing to secure their borders. Why would we NOT have a Westminster system - which has worked well - when 'our first arrivals' came from Britain! I marvel at how our early settlers forged this country from ground zero. I marvel at their tenacity, initiative, sacrifice, determination, planning, innovation - they had VISION and they had grit. Its THIS generation that has squandered their legacy. Besides, it was God Himself who 'chose' Britain to colonise this continent - not the Portuguese or the French. Further Australia is known as 'The Great South Land of the Holy Spirit prophesised by a Portuguese Sea Captain on the Day of Pentecost back in ?? (you will have to check the date). He planted a Cross on the beach at Vanuatu and declared that 'all the south lands to the pole were the lands of the Holy Spirit. God has given - what is now this nation - the WHOLE continent as our inheritance and we have welcomed 'others' to compliment what was first achieved. Together under One Flag.
That 'some' are dis-illusioned is not surprising given the 'unhappy state' we have caused by our own stupidity and greed. By way of final comment - When God 'chose' the Land of Israel for the descendants of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob - He made an 'everlasting covenant' with Abraham - that means forever -and declared that He would form them into a 'great' Nation - not so much in terms of size but in terms of ability. God set the ground rules saying - If you keep MY laws and My statutes THINGS WILL GO WELL FOR YOU. If you dont keep My laws and My statutes things WILL NOT go well for you'. Herein lies OUR problem. Over time, we have become a Godless nation - we have introduced laws that are abominable and things are NOT going well for us. We have cut ourselves off from Light Truth Liberty Righteousness Justice. In my view, we need to become Biblically literate and begin 'living out' what is Good and Noble. THEN we will see remarkable change.
Sounds like a great idea. The rest of Australia could then invade and annex WA so we don't have to listen to your contemptible whining anymore. Bring it on!
grab a copy St Stephen and see the safeguards included in the new (draft) Constitution & associated chapters, that stop the past repeating itself - we are talking about a wholesale redesign
Ah, “safeguards”. Against what? Human nature? Good luck with that, mate! And what of the complete capture and economic domination of the state for donkeys’ years now by multinational mining companies and the crooks they make rich? I somehow doubt your constitution will put an end to, or even limit, it at the stroke of a constitutional pen! My centenaire West Oz aunty has been braying about the state seceeding from “the eastern states” for about as long and with the same amount of credibility. I previously wrote it off as mere… parochialism. But, thank you, I'll have a look and will be particularly interested to see what the constitution has to say about future “pandemic” measures. You'll want to be assured of the same, or even greater, protection of human rights that you you had there the last time around, the envy of the world. Don't want to kill granny…or my aunty. Stay safe!

What a fantastic idea. Tax the resource companies. Get away from the idiots in Canberra.

A wonderful idea but requires:
Expunging any and all politicians and beaurocrats who conducted democide,
Bill of rights
Dec of independence
Constitution
1st amendment
2nd amendment
I would like a bill of rights also!

The 2nd amendment ensures the 1st amendment and also keeps the govCo in check 💪👏😁

Wonderful! Keep us Easterners posted so we can put up our For Sale signs at the first opportunity.

What would be interesting is if a couple of big mining companies who stand to benefit got behind the cause...
Will I need a passport to get back to the Eastern States?
Yes!
They're grooming us. Jetstar domestic flight is at the International Terminal.
Anyway as I am seeing, at Curtin and nearby, Perth seems to be occupied.
Like your comment Tim. WA has been moaning for ages.
Believe me it is happening people have had enough their game is falling apart unvaccinated unmasked unmuzzled unafraid keep up the fight

Typical commie authoritarian abuser - can’t let people go their own way.
Why should we imagine that those running a seceded WA would be any more just, reasonable or intelligent, or any less corrupt, than the current bunch?
Great question, one I intend to ask at the book launch.
