Because, like the crew at the CDC and FDA, TGA current crop of little sycophants, are planning their exit in to secondary careers within the pharmaceutical industry and companies. Take note, their name plates will be jumping ship just like the revolving doors have been swinging in the states, Canada, UK, and Germany since 2021😉
There are real people replying to FOI requests - usually redacting and/or limiting or straight out denying access. When appealing such rejections, the content seems to do the rounds from one desk jockey to another. It is possible to continue appealing up through the bureacrapic hierarchy - and - land on the desk of someone who did not know of the goings-on, reads the report, and determines your appeal is justified. This has indeed happened to someone who has been lodging FOI requests for years. However, the slow march of officialdom means that far too many people have been harmed/died in the interim of that info coming to light. Kind of makes it all the worse that it is real people behind this villainy.

They can't avoid the optics with 90%+ of their funding coming from Big Pharma! They must 'pay the piper'...
I strongly suspect they have to appear to be 'providing a vigorous defence 'so they don't get countersued in the forthcoming storm.

I always prefer to see names reported- saying "TGA says..." does provide a nice shield of anonymity to the malefactors.
Somehow, looking at the correspondence makes me wonder if the anonymous TGA has been replaced by an AI bot.
