Vaccination, on your doorstep!
Knock knock, who's there?
WA Health has dispatched nurses to go door-to-door in the suburbs of Perth to vaccinate anyone who is eligible and willing.
A Covid hotline operator confirmed today that nurses have been dispatched to the suburbs to offer door-to-door vaccinations (Pfizer only) and will be doing so until mid-December. The operator (who was super friendly and helpful), explained that the door-to-door service has been added because the community pop-up vaccination clinics are shortly closing down, and they want to make sure everyone can access their vaccination.
It appears that WA Health views this as a good allocation of resources, at a time when our hospital system and nurses are regularly in the news headlines for reasons such as unacceptable ramping times, burnout, overwork, and underpay.
Sorry folks, I checked but you can’t book them to come to your house on appointment. Shame, Dial-a-Vax is catchy.
