The rise and rise of Covid-19 infections Down Under
Spike in infections and reinfections as Australia claims status as one of the most highly vaccinated countries in the world.
The Project asked why Australia has one of the highest infection - and reinfection - rates of Covid-19 in the world. We are also one of the most highly vaccinated populations in the world.
The glaring question they did NOT ask -
Is there any link between our sky-high vaccination rate and our rocketing infection rate?
Of course they did not ask this question. Because the answer is always more jabs.
Infectious diseases expert Paul Griffin tells viewers,
”We know that people can get some protection from reinfection after they’ve been infected, but it’s quite variable and not necessarily long lasting, and that’s why we need people, even if you’ve had Covid, to continue with your scheduled vaccination course.”
Griffin lists a litany of subvariants, explaining that infection with one variant does not necessarily protect against other variants, and that therefore reinfection is quite common. He emphasises yet again, that the answer is more vaccinations.
Notwithstanding the fact that the vaccine schedule has not been updated for new variants. Or that Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla famously acknowledged that Omicron is a ninja variant (spawning equally ninja subvariants) when it comes to evading the current vaccines. Or that billionaire and WHO’s largest private donor Bill Gates noted that Omicron has essentially outstripped the current vaccines in both its ability to infer immunity and its ability to circulate through the population.
But still, Griffin says, keep on vaccinating. Really, just go for it.
To give you a visual, scroll down to see how Australia is faring when it comes to vaccine doses administered (Fig. 1) and confirmed cases of Covid-19 (Fig. 2). Note that cases really take off towards the end of September 2021, around about the same time we hit 100 doses of vaccine administered per 100 people. With over 95% of the population (over 16 yo) now double vaccinated, and almost 1.5 million on their fourth dose at the end of May 2022, cases are still rising.
Any good student knows that correlation ≠ causation. However, the correlation should surely have prompted The Project team to send a few tough questions in Griffin’s direction.
If we’re onto four doses and cases are still climbing - is the vaccine working? And what does “working” even mean?
If Omicron has so successfully escaped the vaccine to date, why do we keep vaccinating with the same vaccine?
What are Australia’s infection rates like compared to less vaccinated nations? And compared to equally vaccinated nations?
Is there any concern about immune suppression in people who continue to vaccinate at short intervals?
Is there any link between the spike in infections around Dec 21 at the same time that we hit double dose levels of vaccination at almost entire population level across Australia?
Griffin may have had sensible answers to all these questions, but we wouldn’t know - he wasn’t asked.
One scientist who has very in depth answers to the above questions is Dr Geert Vanden Bossche. Vanden Bossche says it’s the ‘keep on vaccinating’ mentality that’s driving the surge in Omicron (and subvariant) infections in highly vaccinated populations. I’m not an immunologist (obvs) and I won’t pretend to understand the mechanics of Vanden Bossche’s explanation. So I’ll list the top notes and you can watch the interview for yourself.
Vanden Bossche says high rates of vaccination during a pandemic are putting immense pressure on the virus to mutate into ever more infectious variants
This is in large part due to the fact that the Covid-19 vaccines are not sterilising
It is actually the virus working in combination with the vaccine that is further driving the extreme infectiousness of new variants
Vaccination of an entire world population during a pandemic has never been done before. This is a global experiment, and it’s not going well (if by well, you mean ending the pandemic)
For now, these variants are less deadly, but it’s unlikely that this will remain the case
Vaccination-induced immunity and natural immunity are not the same thing. We need to ‘balance out’ the vaccinated population with innate immunity
The vaccines do seem to have reduced outcomes of death and severe disease. But they have caused increasingly infectious variants, and it is quite possible, even likely, that as the virus continues to mutate to evade vaccine induced immunity, it will increase in virulence also
Wholesale vaccinations should stop immediately. They are driving this latter stage pandemic
We should return to pre-Covid-19 pandemic wisdom. Focused protection combined with natural immunity can build herd immunity within populations
Antivirals will need to be administered to the population prophylactically to assist with bringing this pandemic to an end

Read Vanden Bossche’s letter to the WHO calling for an end to the mass vaccination program here.
The gist is. If you’re not vaxxed, continue as such. Do not vaccinate, do not vaccinate your children. If you’re vaxxed, Vanden Bossche strongly recommends holding out on boosters. No more boosters. He recommends antivirals for protection of the vaccinated population. Watch the end for his complete recommendations.
