Yikes, it’s already the end of January.
I’m conscious that my posts have been less frequent this month, and more varied content-wise. Aside from being beset by some health issues, I have been rehearsing, and then performing in a show at the Perth Fringe Festival! I’m a member of the Menagerie Choir, a 100+ group that sings mostly indie-pop songs.
Every year we put on a Fringe show, which is a huge undertaking, and so fun. This year the theme was ‘In Dreams.’ The show was characteristically beautiful and silly and weird, like the OTT school dance comp the Rock Esteiddfod, but you’re 40. Lots of blue eyeshadow, face glitter and sequins.
We performed in Studio Underground at the State Theatre Centre, for five sold-out nights. Here’s a little snippet of us singing Mowgli’s Road.
With the show run finishing up last night, I’m finally breathing out and looking forward to jumping back into my regular content and posting schedule - usually a couple of posts a week, more if I’m bursting with ideas, occasionally less if I’m working on a big story that takes a bit more research.
Can’t wait to get back into it!
