What a great story, good to hear no serious damage 🙏

Sadly not enough politicians go surfing, on second thought that may cause a shark extinction event. Glad your bloke came away with all his bits and hope for his speedy recovery.

P.S. Can we please have some of that Global Warming in Melbourne?

It's awfully cold here too Mike. Very much looking forward to spring...

Hopefully AI will make politicians an endangered species like the white shark... But until then we can still hunt them and sell their teeth...but not their spines, because the politicial sub-species that have backbone are nearly extinct.

That's where I learned to surf, growing up in Perth. Glad he's ok - seems pretty unfazed by it!

PS nice ~double entendre there; look forward to hearing if he's considered palatable :-)

He's shaken, I'm sure he'll be nervous getting back in the water, but he's also enjoying the drama ;) and feeling pretty lucky the shark didn't do more damage.

Yep, I get it. A friend of ours was killed by a shark in the Whitsundays a few years ago - he was best man at my sister in law's wedding, and we did some skits together, had a ball - and then 2 days later he was dead.

It's so incredibly unlikely - but still possible. Many in the family still cannot go deeper than thigh in the ocean since. I must admit it flashes through my head too, and I had to push myself to get back out deep, and to surf. Just keep telling myself, one in a few million. Do you feel lucky, punk.. :-)

Glad that fiance Ryan survived shark bite hope he heals well & that your anxiety goes He was in shark's home so these bites will occur.as sharks lack love & compassion. Best of everything to both of you

Hell of a way to say ‘I love you’

Blimey! I hope Ryan will take that luck and buy a lottery ticket! Of course almost all politicians, public health officials, mainstream journos etc. can go surfing with impunity - sharks will only attack those with humanity.

He is so lucky. Definitely a brow wipe moment.

Me too!

One way or another, that shark’s tooth will need to come out. Leaving an organic foreign body embedded in human tissue is not a good idea.
